The new LISTERINE® AGENT COOL BLUE® formula has an enhanced preservative system, which includes the addition of potassium sorbate and cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC). These ingredients were not part of the old formula. The following enhancements have also been made to the packaging to distinguish the new product from the old one:

A: We conducted a voluntary nationwide recall of all lots of the GLACIER MINT® and BUBBLE BLAST® flavors of LISTERINE® AGENT COOL BLUE® in April 2007 after determining that the preservative system was not adequate against certain microorganisms. We worked closely with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration regarding this issue and voluntarily implemented a precautionary nationwide recall.
